TB Day observed

IMPHAL, May 12 : The 41st World TB Day observance ceremony was held today at  DEIC Hall, CMO Office Complex, Imphal East organised by District Health Society, National TB Elimination Programme, Imphal East, Manipur.
The event was attended by Shamim Ahmad Shah, ADM Imphal East as the chief guest; Dr N Romila Devi, DACO, Imphal east as guest of honour and Dr L Indira Devi as president of the function.
As a part of the event, 'Best Service Provider' awards were also distributed to W Debala and the staff of DMC and DOTS Centre JNIMS National TB Elimination Programme. Further, medicines were also distributed to TB survivors.
Speaking on the occasion, Shamim Ahmad urged the people of Manipur to cooperate and support the goal of eliminating the disease of tuberculosis from India by 2025. Interested persons can get tested for TB at JNIMS Hospital, he added.
