Imphal, Apr 8 : The body of Wahengbam ningol Jessica who was found dead in a suspicious manner at her in-law's house at Samram Mamang Leikai on April 3 has been claimed by the JAC concerned after reaching an agreement with the State Government, today.
The mortal remains were taken from JNIMS morgue to perform the last rites after the JAC and family members of Jessica met Chief Minister N Biren Singh and Langthabal AC MLA Karam Shyam  at the CM's Secretariat today afternoon.
Reportedly, the Chief Minister has agreed to consider all the conditions laid down by the JAC .
Speaking to media persons, one of the JAC members said that they will  launch strong agitations with the help of civil organisations if the Government doesn't deliver its assurance after performing the last rites.
Jessica left behind two children and was the wife of Pukhrihongbam Dineswar @ Naoba of Samram Mamang Leikai.
The JAC and family members didn't claim the body, until today, as they suspected murder and have been demanding the State Government to investigate and book the culprits.
The maternal side of Jessica claimed that the mother of two was frequently harassed by her in-laws and as such she stayed at her Lilong Chajing residence with her children before her husband came and took her to attend Cheiraoba on April 2 'forcefully'.
She was found hung to death the next day (April 3).
They also claimed that there was a mark of strangulation on Jessica's neck which contradicts the cause of death given by her in-laws.
