Revoke IMC order, appeals MSC/AITUC

All India Trade Union Congress, Manipur State Committee has appealed the MAHUD Minister to revoke the order issued by  Caretaker Mayor of Imphal Municipal Corporation (IMC) on April 19 restricting street vendors at Khwairamband Bazar from plying their wares in the area past 8 am.
In a statement, MSC/AITUC alleged that street vendors are not responsible for the increased crowding in the Khwairamband Bazar area. Instead, the statement claimed that crowding is caused by incompetent traffic personnel and banning entry of vehicles from Thangal Bazar till Kasturi Dukan.
The statement further asserted that street vendors contribute a lot to the economic growth of the state. As such, they should be uplifted and protected, the statement added.
