Three held

IMPHAL, Apr 27 : The State police arrested three persons including a Member of Gram Panchayat for possessing bogus and multiple job cards of MGNREGS.
According to sources, the three arrested persons are Koijam Sundar (50) of Sawombung College gate, Kamei Gaidonchung (45) of Sawombung Kabui Khunjao and Laishram Meeteingamba (36) of Yourabung Khunou.
Koijam Sundar is a Ward Member of Sawombung Gram Panchayat while the remaining two are the spouses of Ward Members.
Though Meeteingamba is a Rifleman at Manipur Police, he reportedly possesses a job card linked to a bank account.
From the trio, 33 bogus and excess job cards have been seized.
It is reported that the three individuals also opened several bank accounts without the knowledge of the beneficiaries.
