Manipur badminton, archery and boxing teams for NER Sports Week announced

IMPHAL, Apr 25 : Manipur teams for badminton, archery and boxing for the upcoming North East Regional Sports Week to be held as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav have been announced by the association concerned.
The sporting event is to be hosted in Imphal by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of Manipur and will see North East States compete in five different disciplines viz- Archery, Badminton, Boxing, Football and Table Tennis.
As per a selection order of Manipur Badminton Association, players who will be representing Manipur in the said event are K Dingku, Kh Manjit, M Meiraba Luwang, Bidyasagar Salam, Sirzeet Moirangthem, K Priya, N Purnima, Ksh Maheshwari, Angita Naorem and H Villinda.
The association further named M Romesh (YAS) and L Rinky (SAI) as team manager and coach.
Manipur Archery Association also named 16 players who will be representing Manipur in recurve and compound events in the said regional sporting event.
Yumnam Anupama, Jenifer Paonam, Gangmei Languilu and Th Swashita are the women recurve archers named in the State team for the event and will be led by coach B Gunicha while Akoijam Amarjit, L Yuhenba , M Malemnganba and W Leonard are in the men's recurve team to be led by Ch Shanta Devi as coach.
P Lily, Senyai Th, Kh Manglemsana and M Rupan on the other hand are named in the women's compound team to be led by coach Gitanjali Laishram as H Teuton, S Johnson, O Henary and L Yohenba have been named in the men's team to be coached by B Devchand.
Mutum Badal Singh was in the meantime, named as team manager.
The Manipur Amateur Boxing Association also named an 14 member boxing team for the sporting event.
The male boxers who will be representing Manipur in the event are Md Mujahid (46 kg), Md Najimuddin (48 kg), S Yaiphaba (50 kg), Ngath-ingpam (52 kg), P Jackson (54 kg), L Edison (57 kg), M Chungneireng Kom (60 kg), L Shantikumar (63.5 kg), M Bijoy (66 kg), O Brandon (70 kg) and L Rahul (75 kg).
L Kishan and  Priyokumar were named as coaches for the team and Sunilkumar Singh as the team manager.
In the meantime, female boxers named in the State team are Th Apsara (46 kg), Y Venika (48), K Bandana (50 kg), M Rosemary (52 kg), N Babyrojisana (54 kg), H Ambeshwori (57 kg), H Gaviya (60 kg), Ksh Tilotama (63.5 kg), Ksh Silky (66 kg), Tingneiling Chongloi (70 kg) and KM Renu (75 kg).
N Sangita and Ch Bijeta were named as women's team coaches while Premananda Laishram was named as team manager.
