CHD/TPL, Apr 23: The Bujuur Aanchung Puh (Moyon Naga Council), apex body of the Moyon Naga tribe on Saturday organised a swearing-in ceremony of its newly elected executive council and assembly affairs for the tenure 2022-25 at Thoma Memorial Hall Kapaam (Komlathabi), Chandel.
The oath of affirmation was administered by Roel Jindashing Moyon, former president BAP and chairman election commission (BAP) while blessing was done by Rev Fr Aloysius Seiba, parish priest St Paul's Parish Liwachangning.
The newly elected office bearers included Chinir Francis Moyon as president, Frankie Chara Moyon as vice president and Chinir Solomon Moyon as general secretary among others.
The swearing in ceremony was attended by chiefs and authorities of all the Moyon villages along with president and colleagues of Bujuur Shanuw Ruwrkhek (Moyon Women Union) and Moyon Students' Union (TTBR).
Meanwhile, a programme to elect new office bearers of Meetei Council Moreh (MCM) for the tenure 2022-24 was held at the office of MCM in Moreh Keithel.
It was attended by members of AMSU Tengnoupal District Committee, Kha Nongpok Apunba Nupi Lup Moreh.
Members of local clubs from 5 Meitei villages of Moreh also took part in the programme.
At the programme, 17 new office bearers of MCM were elected including M Thoiba Meetei (president), L Tomba and Th Ibungo Singh (vice presidents), and L Brojen Meetei (general secretary).
Later, two minute silence was observed and floral tributes were paid to deceased members of MCM and martyrs of Anglo-Manipuri War 1891.
