IMPHAL, Apr 21: The People's Action for National Democratic Movement (PANDM) has accused the RIMS Director of not utilising the fund allocated to develop the institute properly and for giving contract works to people of his preference.
A press release issued by PANDM claimed that whatever the developmental activities taken up for RIMS under its current Director, as compared to the fund allocated, is just delusional to befool the people and the same can be easily comprehended if one sees the hospital management and patient care facilities available in the institute. Isn't it the responsibility of Chief Minister N Biren who is also the Vice Chairman of Board of Governors of RIMS to look into the matter, PANDM asked. When contacted, the RIMS Director rubbished the allegations and said that RIMS has been making rapid strides ever since he assumed office. For three years the institute has occupied a place of pride in the NIRF ranking, he said and added that the MRI test can be done at the institute at the cheapest rate. The number of ICU beds has also been increased to 95 now, he said and added that a seat for DM in Nephorology is now open at the institute. The institute now has a course for MSc in nursing, added the Director.
