IMPHAL, Apr 21: As part of their ongoing effort to assist the needy, Like Minded Group (LMG) has provided monetary assistance to the tune of Rs 20,000 to Elangbam Rejina Devi (34) from Nambol Maibam Chingmang.
It may be noted that this marks the 47th time LMG has extended aid.
Five years ago, Elangbam Rejina Devi, w/o E Rabi Singh suffered from renal failure of both kidneys. Following this, she underwent a kidney transplant at Chandigarh after selling off a considerable amount of their assets for the procedure. Unfortunately, owing to the pandemic, they failed to get timely medical check ups with the outcome being that the transplanted kidney has begun failing again.
As a result, the family mortgaged their home for Rs 5 lakh and is currently using the money for her treatment.
LMG handed over the monetary aid to E Rejina's mother-in-law Rohini Devi at their residence.
LMG's advisory board member Sobita Mongjam and vice-president Baleshwor Longjam led the aid extension trip while secretary Ojit Sorokhaibam, publicity secretary Rakesh Naorem and Dr Eteen Maibam among others were also present.
Ojit Sorokhaibam encouraged people to extend a helping hand to their fellow men and laid assurance that LMG will continue to provide aid to those who need it.
Meanwhile Rohini Devi expressed her gratitude to the team from LMG for their monetary assistance in their time of need.
