Two-day seminar kicks off

IMPHAL, Apr 21: A two-day seminar on "Manipuri Language, Literature, Culture and Folklore"  organised by Manipuri Department, Manipur University was kicked off today at the Kangshang of Manipuri Department, MU.
This seminar was organised in observance of the 100th birth anniversary of MK Binodini Devi.
The event was attended by Professor Naorem Lokendro, Vice Chancellor Manipur University; Professor Nahakpam Aruna, Dean, School of Humanities, MU and Professor Toijam Tampha, Head Manipuri Department, MU as presidium members.
On the first day of the seminar held today, retired Professor Rajen Toijam moderated the first session, meanwhile Dr Chirom Rajketan, Dr Athokpam Kholchandra and M Dayamanda presented papers.
 The second session of the day was moderated by Professor Nahakpam Aruna, while Dr Koijam Shantibala, Dr Wahengbam Kumari Chanu, Dr Naorem Sanatomba and Wahengbam Subashchandra presented their papers.
The second day of the seminar to be held tomorrow will be moderated by retired Professor Polem Nabachandra Singh, Professor L Birjita Devi, Professor Toijam Tampha and retired Professor S Sanatombi and various scholars will present their papers.
