Governor hails

IMPHAL, Apr 1 : Governor La Ganesan has expressed happiness at the removal of Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958 from six districts of the State under 15 police stations, namely, Imphal East, Imphal West, Thoubal, Jiribam, Kakching and Bishnupur from April 1.
The Governor said that this remarkable step was taken by the Government to fulfil the aspiration of the people of Manipur. He also expressed his gratitude to the Central Government for this landmark decision under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Governor further expressed full confidence that the whole State will be free from any unwanted situation in due course owing to the invaluable cooperation from the people of the State.
