'Blood Centre' inaugurated

IMPHAL, Apr 18: The American Oncology Institute, which forms a part of the Babina Specialty Hospital, Khabeisoi has inaugurated its blood bank at its premises today.
Dr Thangjam Dhabali, the Managing Director of the Babina Groups of Companies declared the formal launching of the blood bank, which is named as Blood Centre.
Speaking to the media, Dhabali said that the Blood Centre is the fourth of its kind in the State, besides RIMS, JNIMS and Shija Hospital.
He further informed that the Blood Centre is being opened to aid in meeting the demand of blood in treating cancer patients at the American Oncology Institute.
The institute faces many inconveniences in taking blood from the blood banks of RIMS, JNIMS and Shija Hospital as it undergoes a long procedure, he added.
He also conveyed that every person donating blood at the Blood Centre will be allowed to take blood even without replacement.
The Managing Director went on to state that any person or any medical institute can take blood from the blood centre after paying a minimal service charge.
