WMC session

IMPHAL, Apr 17 : The World Meetei Council (WMC) conducted its 3rd plenary session 2022  at Janpath Road, New Delhi under the theme "Reawakening our spirit of oneness," today.
The programme commenced by lighting the ceremonial lamp.
The welcome address was delivered by  WMC Delhi Unit secretary (art and culture) Th Samita while the keynote address was given by Delhi Unit president Dr Nongmaithem Manichandra Singh.
Speaking at the event, WMC central committee vice chairman Dr KN Chand said that the Council will pursue  its movement until the Meetei/Meitei is given a Scheduled Tribe status.
At the function, Moirangthem Nilamadhop  from Cachar and weightlifter N Kunjarani Devi were given lifetime achievement  awards by the WMC.
Several cultural programmes were also conducted as a part of the plenary session.
