Gale uprooots several houses

MOIRANG, Apr 16 : A strong gust of wind that swept through the State in the intervening night of April 15 and 16 dismantled several structures in different areas under Moirang Sub Division and injured one person.
The injured person is Basnajan from Kwakta and he has been admitted to Kwakta PHC.
The wind damaged several houses and structures at Ngangkhalawai, Thamnapokpi while M/S Loktak Furniture run by RK Sami near Moirang Oil Pump was swept away reported damaging properties worth Rs 3 lakh.
It is further reported that the strong wind swept away the roof of Glory Children Home at Thamnapokpi and Mahindra's outlet at Moirang Okshongbung Leikai.
At least two houses belonging to Md Azad Hassain and Md Sabir Khan from Kwakta were also reported to have been badly damaged by the wind.
