CPI Manipur State Council appeals

Communist Party of India Manipur State Council has appealed the State Government to procure rice produced by farmers of the State.
In a statement issued today, CPI MSC said different States including Punjab and Telangana have already procured rice produced by farmers of their respective States with a view to benefit the farmers, as such the Manipur Government should also follow suit and do the needful in order to save the lives of farmers.
Regarding shortage of fertilizers during peak season, CPI MSC said the Government should stockpile fertilizers from now and should stop procuring after shortage as it prevents the farmers from utilising the fertilizer when it is most required.
CPI MSC also said the Government should really consider minimising construction works in agricultural lands.
The Government had procured huge chunks of land for airport, sports universities and now there are also plans for ring roads and diversion roads, added CPI Manipur State Council.
