IMPHAL, Apr 15 : The United People’s Revolutionary Front of Manipur (UPRFM) observed its 4th raising day at its General Headquarters, divisional and sectoral areas today.
The main programme was held at the General Headquarters of UPRFM in the presence of its chairman T Bhudhi alias Tamnganba and general secretary M Radha alias Luchingba, said the outfit in a statement.
The programme began by hoisting the front's flag.
At the event, T Budhi spoke about the role of cadres in the revolutionary movement of Kangleipak and the ever changing global geo-political landscape.
Claiming that India has been scheming to exterminate the people of Kangleipak and others in the WESEA using different tactics, he alleged that Kangleipak, the erstwhile kingdom was forcefully annexed by India on October 15, 1949.
Further claiming that the introduction of Citizen Amendment Act which allow people following certain faiths including Hinduism to settle in the WESEA region poses a grave threat to the indigenes of the region which has distinct features, Budhi claimed that the challenges being faced by minority communities has increased manifold after the emergence of the right wing party which firmly believes in One Nation, One Culture, One Language ideology.
The declaration to make Hindi a compulsory subject upto Class X in all the North-East States is also one such campaign which threatens the identity and  culture of people in the WESEA region, he said and alleged that the move of the Central Government only aims to make India a better place to live for Hindus and Hindi speaking natives.
He also claimed that it is natural for the people who have lost their independence but still have a National character to wage war against the coloniser to free its land and protect its identities.
He then greeted all the cadres, people who have assisted the outfit in its endeavours, revolutionary groups from WESEA with a similar ideology and the  martyrs who laid down their lives in the movement.
