Congman held for passing derogatory remarks

IMPHAL, Apr 12 : The State police has arrested the chairman of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (legal cell) Advocate Sanaojam Samachoron @ Sanou on the charge of 'using derogatory remarks' against Union Home Minister Amit Shah during a live TV show on April 9.
He was arrested based on a complaint filed by BJP Yuva Morcha Manipur president M Barish Sharma to Imphal Police Station.
Samachoron has been handed over to the City Police Station.  
According to the complainant, Samachoron not only used foul languages against the Union Home Minister  but also misrepresented India as a whole during the TV show.
The complainant further submitted that Sanaojam Samachoron deliberately humiliated and belittled the hindus of mainland Indian by 'even terming them as animal,' which hurt the racial and religious feeling of the entire India and the same amounts to sedition.
Based on the complaint, the police registered a case and arrested Sanaojam Samachoron today morning.
The police have registered FIR for offence of sedition, derogatory languages and several other relevant provisions under section 124A/ 295A and 505 IPC.  
Sanaojam Samachoron was produced before the Duty Magistrate Imphal West late night today by a team of City police.
Samachoron was later freed on bail by the Court after his counsel moved a prayer for bail.
The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), Manipur Pradesh said that Samachoron was arrested  yesterday at around 1 am  after Morcha president Manoharmayum Barish lodged a complaint to the police.
BJYM thanked the State Govt and State police for their timely action.
