IMPHAL, Apr 11: The All Manipur Quarry Association (AMQA) warned of stringent form of protests from April 15 if the local workers are not allowed to quarry sand like the companies from outside the State.
The above statement was made by Moirangthem Mangoljao, president of AMQA while speaking to media persons during a press meet held today at the Directorate of Commerce and Industry campus at Lamphel.
He further appealed to the authorities concerned to release the machines and excavators of the local workers seized on the alleged charge of mining sand violating the rules and regulations.
Alleging that the State Government imposes no restrictions to big companies like Keystone on sand mining in the State while restricting the local sand miners, he said that any form of restrictions should be applicable to all.
