Local clubs condemn

IMPHAL, Apr 10: Apex body on Khurai Chingangbam Leikai Water Supply Scheme has condemned the ban imposed on the water supply schemes constriction near Porompat TV tower by some individuals.
Speaking to media at a press conference held at Unity Club in Kongpal Kongkham Leikai, convenor of the apex body Mayanglambam Ton, the water supply scheme is nearing completion and trial run is being conducted at the moment. The completion of the project will ensure water supply to people of 5 localities of the area including Kongpal Khaidem Leikai, Kongpal Chingangbam Leikai, Kongkham Leikai, Ninthoubung Leikai and Khurai Chingambam Leikai.
He told the media that the land acquisition was completed in 2019 and all the documents are available with the apex body which can be viewed by any concerned party.
If the project, which is being taken up under the Jal Jeevan Mission of the Central Govt, is not completed, there is a fear that the people of the said 5 localities will be left without any access to drinking water, he added.
Mayanglangbam Ton appealed all the people, CSOs and the Government to do the needful to ensure that the project is completed in time.
