Ranji Trophy : Manipur go down to Sikkim by 190 runs

IMPHAL, Mar 6 : Manipur suffered a 190 run loss in the hands of Sikkim in the third and final plate group match of the Ranji Trophy 2021-22 at Jadavpur University Campus 2nd Ground, Kolkata.
Resuming their innings today on 211 for 2, Sikkim added 17 more runs to declare on 228 for 3 in 60 overs and gave Manipur a target of 367 runs.
With less than a day left to chase, Manipur batters failed to bear the pressure and bundled out for just 176 runs in 72.3 overs. Langlonyamba and L Kishan scored identical 30 for Manipur in the chase followed by Priyojit Kangabam 25, RK Rex 18, Narsingh Yadav 17 and Nitesh Sedai 15.
Sumit of Sikkim emerged wrecker-in-chief as he claimed thrice for 15 runs in 15 overs exploiting Manipur's vulnerability while Palzor Tamang, Lee Yong Lepcha and Ankur shared two wickets apiece to add teeth to their bowling attack.
Tarun Sharma who fetched four wickets alone in Manipur's first innings also managed a wicket.
