KANGPOKPI, Mar 4: Condemning the alleged assault of KSO Sadar Hills general secretary by Manipur Police commando on March 3 at Kalapahar, KSO General Headquarters has urged the State Government to relocate the commandos from hill areas at once.
In a release, KSO-GHQ stated that Thangtinlen Haokip was allegedly assaulted by Manipur police commandos without any reason on March 3 at around 1am.
Denouncing the misuse of power by the police commando, the student body asked, "How could a reputed officer in uniform make a communal statement by underestimating the student's organization."
Demanding stringent and appropriate action upon the commando personnel involved in the assault of KSO Sadar Hills general secretary along with Additional SP Imphal West, KSO-GHQs urged all security forces present in hill areas to stop assaulting innocent civilians and civil society organizations leaders without any valid reason.
KSO General Headquarters further questioned Kangpokpi District police over the presence of Manipur police commandos and asked whether their presence is with their knowledge or not.
