IMPHAL, Mar 29 : The Apunba Imagi Machasing (AIMS), Manipur has submitted a memorandum to Governor La Ganesan to appoint a regular Director of Jawaharal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy (JNMDA) as soon as possible for the academy to pursue its creative pursuits.
A press release issued by AIMS claimed that the authority concerned didn't take into account criteria such as educational qualification, age, experience while appointing the Director in-charge of the academy.
Stating that there has been a systematic crisis in JNMDA since 2020 in terms of administration, procurement and implementation of new projects , promotion of Gurus and 'gradual erosion of traditional values' within the institution, AIMS continued that the esteemed autonomous institution has deteriorated beyond imagination in the absence of a regular Director.
The memorandum also urged the authority concerned to follow proper procedures in the recruitment and promotion of teaching and non-teaching staff and appoint a qualified Guru as a Director-in charge till the appointment of regular Director.
AIMS went on to state that they will launch different modes of agitation until its demand is entertained.
