Body donated
IMPHAL, Mar 28 : For the first time in the history of Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), the body of a 75 year old woman was donated to the medical institute, yesterday.
The body was picked up by JNIMS authority from the residence of the deceased Nongthombam Tamolini Devi (75) at Oinam Awang Leikai as per a will written by her on August 30, 2019.
Speaking to the media, JNIMS Director Prof L Deben stated that the authority of the medical institute is striving to provide better healthcare facilities to the masses and also nurture the young talents under the leadership of Chief Minister N Biren Singh, who is the president of JNIMS Society.
Saying that many have submitted their will to donate their body for research to the medical institute, he added that Tamolini is the first one to fulfil the will.
