Celebrated violinist Bhagat expires

Imphal, Mar 27 :  Heisnam Bhagat Singh, one of the finest violinists of Manipur breathed his last at RIMS yesterday.
Bhagat Singh was also a former director of Rhythms of Manipur and an artiste of the All India Radio Imphal .
He performed in many parts of India and beyond such as Singapore, Hong Kong and Europe as a member of  Rhythms of Manipur and along with Triveni Kala Sangam, New Delhi.
As a music composer, Bhagat composed a good number of music compositions for Rhythms of Manipur including the Doordarshan National award winning composition 'The Journey' in 2009-10.
Besides playing violin and pena, Bhagat was also instrumental in the introduction of Pennao, a musical instrument developed from Pena.
Further, he also performed in the play "Child of North East" directed by Arambam Lokendrajit which was featured at the first Bharat Rang Mahotsav organised by National School of Drama, New Delhi.
The Rhythms of Manipur condoled the sudden and untimely demise of Bhagat Singh.
