Awareness programme conducted

BISHNUPUR, Mar 24: Range Forest Officer, Moirang Range on Thursday organised a one-day awareness programme on the theme, "Conservation and Protection of Forest and Prevention & Control of Forest Fire" at Conference Hall, Kwakta Municipal Council.
The awareness programme was organised as a part of Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA) 2021-22 under the aegis of Bishnupur Forest Division.
It was attended by RK Birjit Singh, principal Mangolnganbi College, State Coordinator, IBCN, honorary wildlife warden, Bishnupur; Dr Rebika Soibam Chanu, Divisional Forest Officer, Bishnupur Forest Division; Ratankumar Singh, Range Forest Officer, Bishnupur Range and E Premjit, founder Green Brigade Manipur as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr RK Birjit Singh highlighted the extreme climatic changes and stressed on the need to conserve the environment before it becomes irreversibly damaged.
Dr Rebika Soibam stated that there is a need for the hill and valley population to come together to stop deforestation.
