IMPHAL, Mar 13
The Communist Party of India Manipur State Council (MSC CPI) has alleged that the magic number achieved by BJP in the just concluded 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election was a result of misusing power and money.
M Joykumar Luwang, assistant secretary MSC CPI, said this in a press communique issued today and alleged the BJP of using money, muscle and gun power to intimidate the public to vote for them against their will.
Releasing the main accused in Heirok killing on bail and utilising huge amounts of State fund to garner support of insurgent groups currently in SoO clearly showed that the BJP misused Government machineries, power and funds for their own gain, he further alleged.
There were a number of incidents of proxy voting, booth capturing and restricting agents of candidates of other parties from entering polling stations against the directives of the ECI in both the phases of the election, added the statement.
