Condoled

IMPHAL, Mar 13 : The Manipur State Shumang Leela Council (MSSLC) has condoled  the demise of noted Shumang Leela artiste Soraisam Tombi who was popularly known as Karong Tombi.
At a condolence meeting  convened today at Imphal, MSSLC general secretary Yumnam Nilachandra said that Soraisam Tombi played a key role in popularising Shumang Leela during his lifetime.
Tombi was known for playing female characters in plays such as African Leishabi, Chagi Khuji, Siroy Lily and Imphal Hotel among others.
He was conferred Peedonu Award in 2014-15.
The condolence meeting was attended by MSSLC president, M Purnimashi Leima; advisor L Tarpon and Padmashree Naba Wareppa.
