AMCTA appeals

The All Manipur College Teachers' Association (AMCTA) has appealed to the Commissioner (Higher & Technical Education) to send the clarification to AG, Manipur by issuing orders regarding the effective date for payment of SCA & TA and retirement benefits to the retired college teachers in accordance with the State Cabinet's decision dated December 23, 2021 by taking special permission from Election Commission of India (ECI).
AMCTA has submitted a request to the Commissioner (Higher & Technical Education) in this regard and stressed on the problems faced by the college teachers owing to the pending clarification to be sent to the AG, Manipur, said a press release by AMCTA.
It further mentioned that the retired teachers are facing problems to submit their applications for commutation of pension and other claims related to pension which is to be submitted within one year from one year from the date of retirement that is on or before February 28, 2022 since the majority of the teachers superannuated during the year had retired on February 28, 2021.
In this connection, the Government has to issue the orders related to the retired teachers within the month of February this year so that the retired teachers may avail the benefits under ROP.
Stating that it is learnt from reliable sources that the matter is pending with the Administrative Department (HE) after obtaining the concurrence from Finance Department (PIC), Government of Manipur due to sudden imposition of Model Code of Conduct of Election, AMCTA maintained that the matter is not related to any political issue or party as the matter had already been approved by the Government long back.
Therefore, the teachers' association appealed to the Government particularly the Administrative Department of Higher & Technical Education to seek special permission from ECI to issue the orders and send clarification in the larger interest of the college teachers.
