Imphal, Feb 7 : While rejecting the labelling of Janata Dal (United) as team B of the ruling BJP, party National general secretary Afaque Ahmad Khan has stated that the JD (U) too will contest the election with all its might and with a conviction not lesser than other parties  to take part in the next Government formation.
Speaking to media persons during a flag hoisting ceremony of  JD (U) Kshetrigao candidate Wahengbam Rojit alias Bullet at Porompat Thawanthaba Leikai today, he continued that JD (U) will win over 20 seats in the election and play a key role in forming the next Government.
Afaque Ahmad also said that W Rojit will be inducted in the Council of Ministers if he is elected.
On being asked if JD (U) is a team B of the BJP, he said that the party  doesn't believe in arguing over baseless allegations.
Stating that JD (U) will contest the election on its own, he,  without taking any names, said that the political parties which have been labelling JD (U) as team B of BJP should reflect on their words and  ponder whether it is them or the JD (U) that are supporting the ruling party.
On being asked about the possibility of sealing a post poll alliance, he added that the JD (U), like other parties, will contest the election with a firm belief to form the next Government.   It would be hypothetical to assume about the post poll scenario now, he added.
Saying that JD (U) will contest the election on the plank of drug issues, AFSPA, law and order, ADC election and good governance among others, he added that the party will release its manifesto soon.
