Blessing ceremony held

IMPHAL, Feb 6
A blessing ceremony for Manipuri documentary film entitled Lee Amadee Wa (Cane and Bamboo) was held at Sapam Laibung Leikai, Khongjom on February 5 organised by Apunba Imagi Machasing (AIMS), Manipur.
As per a press release by AIMS, the blessing ceremony was graced by Professor Amar Yumnam, former Vice Chancellor, Manipur University, Dr H Birkumar, Senior Principal Scientist, CSIR-NEIST, Dr S Manikanta, Additional Director (Retired), Manipur Health Services, Professor Naorem Mohilal Meitei, Head, Department of Zoology, Manipur University, Dr Homen Thangjam, Indira Gandhi National Tribal University and M Khelendro, President, AIMS.
The main theme of the documentary film will be based on the Manipuri manuscript known as “Walon puya” with latest development of science and technology revealing many unknown facts about the cane and bamboo that are still unknown to the world.
The main cast of the documentary will be Prithilata Langpoklakpam and Joychand Moirangthem, Boby Haobam, Inaocha Khundrakpam and Sanjoy Ch will be the director, chief consultant, editor and director of photography of the documentary film respectively, added the press release.
