IMPHAL, Feb 25 : The United Christian Women Manipur (UCWM) has prayed to the Almighty to bless the candidates of the forthcoming Assembly election who stand firmly against corruption and treat everyone equally.
In a statement, UCWM president Vermini Sanasam said that the people of Manipur also want to see the rise of leaders who are secular and can fight corruption.
Vermini also urged all the electors to vote wisely so as to elect the right candidates who can serve the State better.
There is a huge gap between the rich and poor in Manipur, Vermini continued and urged the people to not be intimidated or influenced by money and muscle power.
Saying that Manipur is a highly corrupt State and this factor is causing brain drain, Vermini maintained that many educated youth of the State are also not getting job security due to corruption.
The MPSC not being able to hold examinations for the last five year is also related to corruption, UCWM president claimed and urged the people to exercise their franchise with utmost consideration.
