Search Ops conducted

IMPHAL, Feb 20 : In view of the proposed visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 22 and as part of the preventive security measures for the upcoming State Assembly election, Imphal West commandos carried out cordon and house-to-house search operation at Changangei area and hotels located at Thangal and Paona Keithels today.
According to a reliable information, the team of Imphal West commando under the command of M Amit, Additional SP (Operations), led by Inspector P Achouba, OC, Imphal West commando, carried out a cordon and house-to-house search operation this morning at Changangei Uchekon, Changangei Mayai Leikai and Changangei Makha Leikai.
During the operation, around 70 houses and 85 individuals were verified. No one was picked up for further verification.
Further, the same team of Imphal West commandos carried out a search operation at the hotels located in Paona and Thangal Keithel area from 3.30 pm to 5 pm.
During the search operation, 11 hotels were checked and 20 occupants were verified and no one was detained.
