Eastern Popular Club appeals

IMPHAL, Feb 20
The Eastern Popular Club, Imphal organised a joint meeting of active workers of candidates of Khurai AC, BLOs and club members today at Gouragovind Girls College.
Resolution to conduct the upcoming election in a free and fair manner was unanimously taken at the meeting, said a statement issued by the club.
The meeting also resolved to maintain peace in pre and post election times as well to follow all the rules and regulation given by the Election Commission of India for the upcoming 12th Manipur Legislative election, on Feb 28 (Phase I) and on March 5 (Phase-II), added the statement.
The meeting also demanded strict legal action against the culpits involved in pre-poll violence in the State in recent times and call upon local clubs and Meira Paibis of the State to ensure that such incidents are not repeated.
