Protest rally staged

THOUBAL, Feb 18: In continuation of their mass protest staged across the state, All Manipur Muslim Girl Students Union (AMMGSU) took out a protest rally today at Yairipok Bamon Leikai under the banner of "Hijab cannot be banned in India" and "Hijab is our right".
The protest rally was initially headed towards DC Thoubal but was stopped at Yairipok Bamon Leikai Kabarstan by police personnel.
Speaking to media persons, AMMGSU president Rukshad Choudury stated that India cannot ban hijab as wearing hijab is not a crime and that the student body is ready to face any group of people seeking to violate the secular constitution of the country.
She further cautioned against antagonising their culture and also spoke out against political agents seeking to use this issue for their political gain.
The AMMGSU president shared that AMMGSU will take action against such political agents.
Slogans of "Hijab cannot be banned", "Hijab is our right" etc filled the air during the protest rally.
