PPCM urges
IMPHAL, Feb 16 : The Protection and Preservation Committee Manipur (PPCM) has urged the State Government to do the needful to bring justice to the two Manipuris residing in Assam who were killed in suspicious circumstances in Mizoram.
In a statement issued today, Laikhuram Jayenta, convenor PPCM said the State Government also needs to urge the Central Government to protect Manipuri diaspora residing in different parts of the country.
PPCM also urged for the case to be handed over to NIA or CBI to bring justice to the victims at the earliest.
PPCM also condoled the demise of the two Manipuris and shared the grief of the bereaved families.
It is noteworthy to mention that Keisham Prabin, an oil tanker driver was found dead under suspicious circumstances on Jan 30 in Mizoram while the handyman Namram Nipen allegedly committed suicide in judicial custody on Feb 8. Both the victims were residents of Bamrampur village in Cachar district of Assam.
