Selected films for 2nd International Manipuri Short Fiction Film Festival 2022 announced
IMPHAL, Feb 16
The names of the six films which have been selected for the 2nd International Manipuri Short Fiction Film Festival 2022 were announced today.
As per a press release by Ipak Films Production Manipur, the names of the selected films were announced today during a press conference held at the Department of Social Welfare Directorate's Conference Hall by Ng Ghanashyam, Secretary of Film Forum Manipur in the presence of Ngangom Uttam Singh, Director of Social Welfare, Konsam Saroja, Deputy Director and Rakesh Naorem, convenor of the film festival among others.
The film festival has been organised by Ipak Films Production Manipur under the aegis of Film Forum Manipur and is sponsored by the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Manipur.
The films which have been selected are 'Emagi Ebungo', 'Shangbannaba Atiya', 'Thawanmichak', 'Angouba Uful', 'Ibok' and 'Lambi'.
Also the film 'Ibok' has been conferred with the Ipak Best Popular People Choice Award since it got the maximum number of likes from the viewers on Ipak Media Youtube channel.
Speaking on the occasion, Ngangom Uttam said that the Social Welfare Department has sponsored the film festival  since the Department to motivate the talented film makers  to make good films which will help in spreading awareness among the masses on various societal issues.
He further expressed joy over the positive response the film festival has been able to garner and went on to inform that out of the 28 films from Manipur, Assam, Tripura and Bangladesh which have participated in the film festival, the six selected films will be awarded.
He also informed that a total of 13 awards will be presented including the Ipak Best Popular People Choice Award and the award distribution will be held on February 21, added the press release.
It is worth mentioning that the Best, 2nd Best and 3rd Best films will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs 55, 555, Rs 22,222 and Rs 11,111 respectively.
