MBC, MCO appeal

IMPHAL, Feb 16
The Manipur Baptist Convention (MBC) and the All Manipur Christian Organisation (MCO) in a joint statement have expressed gratitude to the Election Commission of India (ECI) for rescheduling the poll date of the first phase of 12th Manipur Legislative Election from February 27 (Sunday) to February 28 (Monday) for the convenience of all electorates to ensure free and fair election.
The organisations further mentioned about the unpleasant situation regarding uncertainty of the Seventh Day Adventist Mission (SDA) electors to exercise adult franchise on the poll date of 2nd phase which falls on March 3 (Saturday) being their prayer day.
Therefore the organisations have appealed to the ECI to reschedule the poll to another day to the exclusion of Sunday or Saturday.
