IMPHAL, Feb 13 : "If the people of the State give absolute majority to BJP in the upcoming 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election, the saffron party will strive to realise the vision of a 'Sanaleibak Manipur' (Land of Gold)."
Chief Minister N Biren Singh made the remark while attending the flag hoisting event of BJP candidate Kongkham Robindro at his residence at Mayang Imphal Thana Awang Leikai today in the presence of Union Minister of Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju.
Speaking to media after the programme, Kiren Rijiju said that the State is on the path of development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Centre and Chief Minister N Biren Singh in the State.
He then appealed to the people of the Mayang Imphal AC to support and elect K Robindro in the upcoming election so as to ensure the BJP Government returns to power.
Reiterating the achievements of the BJP led Government during the last 5 years, N Biren Singh appealed to the people of the constituency to support K Robindro to ensure that BJP comes back to power with a minimum of 40 seats.
Speaking at the event MP Leishemba Sanajaoba appealed to the people of Mayang Imphal AC to extend their support to K Robindro to strengthen the bond between various communities and for a harmonious co-existence between all communities.
BJP candidate K Robindro said that there used to be a rift between different communities in the AC but it has been resolved.
The programme was also attended by BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda Devi; RK Ranjan, MoS External Affairs and Education; Sambit Patra, National Spokesperson BJP; Ashok Singal, Election in-charge Manipur; Ch Chidananda Singh, vice president BJP Manipur Pradesh amongst other.
