Three held with liquor

IMPHAL, Feb 12 : Imphal East district Narcotic Cell arrested three persons yesterday along with a huge quantity of Indian Made Foreign Liquors (IMFL) from Soibam Leikai Mary Leirak.
The team of Narcotic Cell carried out random frisking and checking in and around Soibam Leikai Mary Leirak area following information from a reliable source during which three persons identified as Moirangthem Ramesh Singh (40), s/o M Tombi Singh of Khurai Soibam Leikai; Irom Aphao Singh (28), s/o I Kunjakishwor Singh of Singjamei Wangma Bei-ghyabati Leikai and Salam Herojit Singh (30), s/o S Ningthem Singh of Yairipok Yambem were arrested by the team.
The team also seized a huge cache of IMFL from the trio which included 16 bottles of Old Monk (full), 22 bottles of bottles Old Monk (half), 41 bottles of Old Monk (quarter), 39 bottles of McDowell's No 1 (quarter), 14 bottles of McDowell's No 1 (half), One bottle of McDowell's No 1 (full), 14 bottles of McDowell's No 1 Rum (quarter), one bottle of OC Blue (full), 6 bottles of OC Blue (half), 30 bottles of OC Blue (quarter), 4 bottles of Royal Stag (quarter), 3 bottles of Blue Riband (half), 1 bottle Blue Riband (full), 7 bottles of AC Black (half), one bottle of Royal Celebration (full), 3 bottles of Contessa (full), 17 bottles of Heineken beer (half), 5 bottles of Breezer (half),12 bottles of Corona Extra (half), 7 bottles of Zumzin (half), 3 bottles of Magic Moments (half), 2 bottles of Magic Moments (quarter), 2 bottles of Full Moon (half), 12 cans of Savage (beer), 8 cans of Chang (beer), 18 cans of Myanmar (beer), 12 cans  of Boom (beer), 12 can of Kingfisher (beer) 4 cans of Budweiser (beer) and one can of Nut Cracker (can).
The arrested individuals have been handed over to Excise Station, Porompat along with the seized IMFL for further legal action.
In another instance, a team of Imphal West Commando seized 250 litres of local liquor from a Maruti Van driven by one Laimayum Naobi Devi (31), d/o (late) L Ratan of Sekmai Nongthonband.
She was arrested by women police personnel of Sekmai Police Station and the seized liquor was also handed over to Sekmai PS.
