Patriotic Writers Forum Manipur observes 14th foundation day

IMPHAL, Feb 10: The 14th foundation day celebration of Patriotic Writers Forum (PAWF) Manipur was held today at Manipur Press Club.
Speaking as the chief guest, Dr Kshetri Tama, Upa-Adhyaksha of Imphal East Zilla Parishad said the writers play a major in striving for a progressive and developed society.
She also lauded the initiatives taken up by the Forum for the Manipuris in and outside the State and expressed belief that the forum will continue to take up similar activities in future.
Delivering the keynote address, Rakesh Naorem, Secretary of PAWF said that the objective of the Forum is not only to contribute in the field of literature but to trace the roots of Manipuris residing outside the State inorder to build a unified identity by safeguarding the culture and traditions.
He also stated that the Forum is undergoing a rough phase owing to the demise of prominent members and advisors of the Forum and prayed that the departed leaders will continue to guide and bless the Forum from the Heavenly abode.
As a part of the foundation day celebration, a short story book titled 'Ahingse Numit Tare ne' written by Hidam Dolen and English poetry books 'The Random Thoughts' and 'The Bouquet' penned by Damodar Laishram were published today.
Also the members who have been conferred with different awards and the artists who drew the cover of the books which were released today were also felicitated in today's programme The foundation day celebration was also graced by Naoroibam Khamba Luwang, president of Patriotic Writers Forum (PAWF) Manipur and patron member Wahengbam Hemabati Devi as the presidium members.
