Naga People’s Front (NPF) Legislature Party leader Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu has asked the Government of India what is stopping it from for inking a final solution to the decades old Naga political issue.
Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu  today urged the Government of India to sign the final solution to the Naga issue before Christmas.
Before the final agreement is signed by all parties concerned, the draft agreement should be placed in public domain so as to elicit   public opinion and consensus, the NPF leader demanded.
He was speaking at the opening ceremony of the 52nd Phek Basa Sports Meet.
Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu also asserted that the NPF is committed to bringing a final solution to the Naga political issue which is honourable, acceptable and inclusive, and the priority of the party is solution, not election.
The NPF is not a party which chases power or position but stands for the cause and welfare of Naga people, he claimed.
The party joined the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Government in Nagaland so that all the legislators of the ruling coali- tion can make collective efforts for early settlement of the Naga political issue, Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu said.
The NPF Legislature Party leader also asserted that its MLAs are ready to pave way if any solution is brought forth.
However if the Election Commission of India announces election, NPF would have no option but contest the election, he said.
He was also optimistic that the NPF would form the next Govt in Nagaland.
Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu  further urged the BJP-led Central Government to be faithful to its election slogan, ‘election for solution’.
BJP should live up to its commitment, he added.
Notably, elections to the Nagaland State Assembly are due early next year.
