Anti-poaching drive conducted

THOUBAL, Dec 4 :  A team led by Thoubal Forest Division, Deputy Ranger, Md Aslam under the supervision of DFO, Th Lokendro on Sunday conducted a drive against illegal poaching of birds at Ekop Pat.
Speaking to media persons, Md Aslam stated that the drive was conducted in the Ataopung area of Ikop Pat to protect migratory birds from illegal poaching.
Pointing out that migratory birds have started visiting the State with the onset of winter, he urged all to stop illegal poaching of migratory birds.
Md Aslam further cautioned that anyone found/caught poaching birds during the drive would be punished under the Wildlife Protection Act 1972.
Staff of  Beat Offices under Thoubal Range including Mayai Keithel Beat Office, Yairipok Beat Office and Heirok Beat Office also took part in the drive.
