The 2-days long Barak Cultural Festival 2022 organised by Barak Museum & Library, Bantarapur, Cachar, Assam kicked off today at Barak Museum Complex, Bantarapur.
The festival began with hoisting of the Barak Museum & Library flag followed by honouring the donors of the Library.
In the first delegate session presided by Ngariyanbam Modhuchandra Singha, founder of the Museum Dr Haorongbam Rajmani Singha gave the keynote address.
The second session was presided by Ngangom Basanta Kumar Singha, president Barak Museum & Library.
It was attended by Langthabal AC MLA, Karam Shyam Singh; Kshetrigao AC MLA, Noorul Hassan; Kaushik Rai, MLA, Lakhipur AC, Cachar; RK Gopalsana, M Surjakumar Sharma, Dr Phuritsabam Birmani, Koijam Swapon and Meihoubam Seitaban as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Karam Shayam lauded Dr Haorongbam Rajmani for all his hard-work and contributions in establishing a Museum in Assam.
He also extended a monetary assistance of Rs 50,000 and assured to provide more aid to help the Museum.
Kaushik Rai and Noorul Hassan also provided monetary aid of Rs 5 Lakh and Rs 50,000 respectively for the Museum.
As part of the event, Sushira Vadya Bhusan was conferred to Nambram Radhabinod Singha; Vadya Bhusan was awarded to Nameirakpam Narayan Singha; Adhikarimayum Kunjeshore Sharma Memorial Cash Award to Mangka Mayanglambam; and Usham Angou Singha Memorial Cash Award to Angalu Thaimei.
