First Emoinu Fish Fest lined up on Jan 3

IMPHAL, Dec 27 : The Department of Fisheries is organising the 1st Emoinu Fish Festival on January 3, 2023 at Hapta Kangjeibung, Imphal East.
Emoinu falls on January 3, 2023. The objective of the festival is to make available fishes for religious offerings while promoting the fisheries sector for sustainable growth and development, said the Directorate of Fisheries.
The fish festival will serve as a one stop solution to the citizens for Emoinu festival where fishes, fresh vegetables, fruits etc will be made available with the participation of agriculture and allied departments of the Government and private firms. The Fisheries Department said interested fish farmers may participate in the festival under the terms and conditions as follows--
Farmers should sell their fishes at the rate fixed by the Department of Fisheries for the Emoinu Festival, 2023.
The Department will bear transportation charges for the participating fish farmers.
The stalls shall be provided free of cost by the organising Department. Farmers should bring their fish products from 9 am to 11 am inside the festival premises. Interested fish farmers may contact their respective District Fishery Officer(s)/CEO (s)/Directorate of Fisheries, Lamphelpat on or before December 29.
