Imphal, Dec 17: A book release function of two books titled “Ahingba Upanyas” and “Nongthangleima amasung Taibang” authored by Professor Nahakpam Aruna Devi of Manipuri Department, Manipur University was held today at Manipur Press Club today.
Sahitya Akademi Awardee Yumlembam Ibomcha; Leimarol Khorjeikol president Kshetrimayum Subadhani Devi and Imphal College Principal Moirangthem Priyobrata graced as the chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively of the book release function which was organised by Leimarol Khorjeikol.
Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of the function, Professor Nahakpam Aruna Devi expressed belief that the two books released today will contribute to the analysis of contents of different writers in the State.
The second edition of the book ‘Ahingba Upanyas’ is released today with the addition of Meitei Mayek contents to its first edition which was released in 2001, she added.
She continued that ‘Ahingba Upanyas’ contains 15 content analysis of works of renowned writers Hijam Anganghal, Rabindranath Tagore, Bankim Chandra Chatterjee and Indira Goswami.
