'Rite-De- Passage of Sanamahism' workshop concludesL Rameshwor Meetei calls for concerted efforts for upliftment of Sanamahi faith

IMPHAL, Nov 11: Lourembam Rameshwor Meetei, Keirao AC MLA and Chairman of Planning and Development Authority has called for the need of making concerted efforts for the upliftment of Meetei/Meitei community.
L Rameshwor Meetei who is also the Vice-president of Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Board made the above appeal while speaking at the valedictory function of the 15-day workshop on 'Rite-De- Passage of Sanamahism' held today at Lainingthou Sanamahi Sanglen.
The 'Rite-De- Passage of Sanamahism' workshop was organised jointly Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Board (LSTB) and Manipur University of Culture.
Rameshwor while lauding the organisers for the conduct of such a workshop maintained that it will help in sensitizing the people about the rituals and traditions of Sanamahi faith.
Emphasizing the need for realizing the need for making cohesive efforts for the welfare of Meeteis/Meiteis, he said that all should contribute in safeguarding the indigenous communities to ensure that they do not become minorities.
He further expressed that one should not forget the contributions made by the forefathers for the formation of LSTB and for the promotion of Sanamahi faith.
He also assured that he will try to increase the grant-in aids for the developments of bodies like LSTB.
Rameshwor also stressed on the need of inculcating the habit of donating whatever one can for the further development of Sanamahi faith.
The programme was also graced by Khongbantabam Ibomcha, Lamlai AC MLA and Manipur Handloom and Handicraft Development Corporation Ltd Chairman and Professor Paonam Gunindro, Vice-chancellor of Manipur University of Culture as the presidium members.
The workshop was attended by 255 participants where 25 resource persons imparted knowledge and sensitized the participants. Certificates were also distributed to the participants.
