Priya shines at AI Sr Ranking Badminton, wins doubles title

IMPHAL, Oct 23 : Konjengbam Priya made history as she claimed women's doubles title at the Yonex Sunrise VV Natu Memorial All India Senior Ranking Badminton Tournament held at Pune with Khushi Gupta of Delhi.
The pair of Priya and Khushi Gupta registered a 2-17 17-21 21-12 win over Shikha Gautam of Karnataka and Poorvisha S Ram of RBI in the final today to secure the top title.
Earlier in the semi-final the duo sealed a comeback 14-21 21-17 21-14 win over Maneesha K of RBI and Kanika Kanwal of Railway.
In the round of 32, Priya-Khushi pair outlasted qualifiers Ningshi Block Hazari of CAG and Bornali Konwar of Assam 21-5 21-19 and pulled off a 21-9 21-13 win over Rasike Raje of RBI and Nila V of Tamil Nadu  in the pre-quarter finals.
In the quarter final, Khushi and Priya outlasted Diksha Choudhary of Chhattisgarh and Navdha Manglam of UP 21-13 21-15 to set up a semi-final date with Maneesha K and Kanika Kanwal.
