Manipuri feature film 'Nongmei Paiba Rapist' released

IMPHAL, Oct 17: A Manipuri feature film named 'Nongmei Paiba Rapist' was released today by Thounaojam Shyamkumar, MLA of Andro Assembly Constituency.
The film release ceremony was held today at Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS), Konung Mamang.
'Nongmei Paiba Rapist' is the second film production of Women Against Crime (WAC). The film release function was also attended by Film Forum Manipur (FFM) Chairman, L Surjakanta; CCSK president, Jitendra Ningombam; WAC Advisors, Soubam Sobita and Ng Ganga as the presidium members.
Speaking at the occasion, WAC Secretary, Arambam Robita who is the scriptwriter and director of the film said that the film is based on rape cases and vulnerable state of women in the State.
She further stated that the film is made with the objective to raise awareness among the masses on the issues of women in the State and the film will be screened for free in different localities across the State after consulting the local clubs concerned.
It may be noted that renowned actors RK Kaiku and Gepelina are playing the lead characters in the film.
