District Level Youth Festival celebrated

CHD/UKL, Oct 1 : As a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Chandel and District Administration Chandel today jointly organised the "District Level Yuva Utsav (Youth Festival) cum Launching of Clean India 2.0" at DC Office Complex, Chandel.
It was attended by Hemant Pandey, Superintendent of Police Chandel; Michael Mate, District Youth Officer (DYO), NYK Chandel; Nimaichand, EO to SDO Chandel; and Tennyson Sialloa, Project Group CRM Leader, Elderline Manipur as presidium members.
As part of Yuva Utsav, 6 competitive events were conducted- Young Artists Contest (Painting), Young Writers Contest (Poetry), Mobile Photography Contest, Declamation Contest, Cultural Festival (Group competition) and Yuva Samvad (Youth Convention).
The programme began with a welcome speech by Ng Rameson Monsang, Chief Convenor of Yuva Utsav Chandel.
Michael Mate delivered the keynote address and led the gathering with a Swachhta Pledge to launch Clean India 2.0 of NYK Chandel.
During the Yuva Samvad, resource persons Siakpa Aimol, assistant general manager, JCRE Skills Solutions; Nula Kohringam, CEO Libero Sports India and Tennyson Sialloa, Project Group CRM Leader, Elderline Manipur guided the youths on various skill development opportunities, how to make a career in sports and Elder Helpline scheme of the Government.
Later, the dignitaries handed out certificates to the winners of the competition and sports items to over 50 youth clubs affiliated with NYKS.
The programme culminated with a vote of thanks by Mercy Haokip, NYK volunteer.
Moreover, NYK Ukhrul also celebrated Yuva Utsav at NYK Youth Hostel Hamleikhong, Ukhrul under the theme "Take Pride in our Heritage and Legacy".
Youths of Ukhrul town competed in five events namely painting, poetry writing, mobile photography, declamation and cultural show.
The Yuva Samvad was attended by SDO Ukhrul, Maibam Suranjoy; Additional SP Ukhrul, Mohammad Samir and DFO Ukhrul, Shangam Shaliwo as presidium members.
Over 250 youth participated in the festival.
