IMPHAL, Jan 8 : All Manipur Students' Union has appealed to the State Govt to submit the final report of the enquiry committee constituted with regard to the admission controversy surrounding DM College of Teaching Education. Further, the student body has also expressed discontent with Principal, DM College of Teaching Education, AK Surodhoni Devi's notification informing the commencement of academic session from January 7, despite the issue remaining unresolved.
In a statement, AMSU informed that the student body locked up 'A Block' of the institute today with the message that new session cannot commence till the enquiry committee constituted to look into the matter presents their final report.
It may be noted that as per an order issued on September 24, 2021, University & Higher Education, Govt of Manipur had given the directive to form an enquiry committee comprising 3 members to look into the admission committee of DMCTE. The order further instructed this enquiry committee to begin their enquiry from September 25 and submit the final report by September 29, 2021. AMSU informed that the final report has not yet been submitted. Further, it is worth mentioning that the order was issued after numerous complaints regarding the admission process in DMCTE had been raised.
AMSU also questioned the irregularities discovered in the seats of in-service and pre-service courses of the institute.
The statement appealed to the authorities concerned to submit the final report of the enquiry committee at the earliest and ensure its availability in the public domain.
