Angom Porom Singh remembered

IMPHAL, Jan 4: The 125th spiritual rebirth ceremony of Angom Porom Singh, the man believed to be the first Christian of Manipur, was held yesterday at Manipur State Film Development Society, Palace Compound.
The event was jointly organised by Angom Porom Ningsing Numit Celebration Committee and Meetei Christian Churches Council.
The dignitaries in attendance included Seikhomang Touthang, Assistant Director, Manipur Police Training College Pangei; Reverend Mutum Ranjit, president Angom Porom Singh Ningsing Numit Celebration Committee; vice president Reverend Laishram Rajen Meitei; Reverend Salam  Kami Luwang, ECA Field Superintendent and social worker Heisnam Subhas.
Reverend Rajkumar Lukhoisana praised Angom Porom Singh and called him a leader who neither saw differences between ethnic groups nor was he influenced by hill-valley divide.
